Baccarat Crystal Chandeliers Heading into the Holiday Season
The day has ended. Thanksgiving has come and gone. Honey and Cinnamon Crepes before sending Sophie off to school and a turkey quarter in tomato sauce for dinner. Before dinner, we took a little walk around the center of town. The night was quite. The air misty tempting to dampen the camera's lens. The cathedral was stoic with an ambiance of haunted times. I half expected Dracula to appear from a darkened corner or empty walkway. Tomorrow is the first day of the Marche de Noel (Christmas Market). I'm told that Strasbourg has the largest Marche de Noel in France. It's huge, sprawling throughout the center of town in various squares and with a variety of shops and happenings. We won't really know what vendors are selling until they are open for business tomorrow. Periodically a kiosk will have a vendor's sign stating they sell hot orange juice with honey, vin chaud (hot wine), or wooden toys, but for the most part, the signs aren't up and we are left to our imagination. I've begun to take photos of Strasbourg. I want to share this city with you. It's gorgeous. Strasbourg is like a little village out of a storybook. A make believe town which has come to life to delight our minds with wonder and dreams, Strasbourg is inspiration for the soul and vitamin C to the heart. It heals. It softens. It drips warmth into one's veins. I took the camera with us this evening and I will continue to bring it with us so that you can encounter this extraordinary city. Enjoy the journey! Note about Baccarat crystal chandeliers There is a street one block from the cathedral which is line with chandeliers during the holiday season. You can view them at the top of the page. The chandeliers are made by Baccarat. Each baccarat crystal chandelier is in a glass casing. They are lit all night, never being turned off. It is a stunning sight to see. The two chandeliers on either end of the street are black. The rest are the clear crystal you see above. Quite lovely! The center picture on the top is a shot looking straight up from the bottom of the baccarat crystal chandeliers. If you have enjoyed this article, please consider leaving a donation.
