A Cafe in Strasbourg

When walking around Strasbourg, Sophie and I often find ourselves meandering into a quaint little French cafe nestled in the same building as an old renovated Cinema with a tainted window the length of the cafe looking into the grande salle (the main theatre). It is Strasbourg's oldest cinema.

It's a lovely place to stop off for tea in the afternoon, coffee, beer or a fun array of appetizers. I'm going to need to start leaving my camera at home. Every time we're in there I'm snapping away at something else we've ordered not wanting to leave anything out.

The French have a love affair with presentation and whatever we order always looks lovely when it arrives. That being said, the prices are reasonable.

The atmosphere is easy going and friendly. The servers speak enough English to understand most of what I say when I can't get by in French and even if they don't they are very good natured about it. As a non-French speaker this is a wonderful quality in a French person which you soon come to greatly appreciate.

The man who runs the cafe is often there mingling, reading the paper or making the best l'indien, a chicken curried burrito/wrap thingie... fabulous!

The cafe tends to be on the darker side which lends to it's calm, relaxed vibe and helps while trying to check out the movie beyond the glass wall.

When in Strasbourg enjoy this cute, little French cafe!
