Edinburgh International Film Festival 2008 Edinburgh is a fun place to hang out with family. I also hear that it's a great place for bar hopping but seeing that the three times I've been there were all with my teenage daughter we were more inclined to see the Edinburgh Castle then the local bars. Edinburgh is rich in history with incredible architecture. Walking the cobble stone streets gazing into the locally owned storefronts has its own particular charm. Edinburgh feels very quaint and safe during the day but at night walking around feels rather sketchy. We have never found a shortage of things to do in Edinburgh from visiting the Edinburgh castle, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, to the Edinburgh Film Festival and taking a local tour bus around the Edinburgh countryside or a stroll through one of the city's old graveyards. The picture of the elephant on the top right side of this page is the coffee shop sign from where JK Rowlins wrote Harry Potter.
